Shares

A share is an amount of money that you invest in the company that is in turn used as the company’s capital, making you gain ownership status in the company.

This is the financial asset that provides for an equal distribution in any profits (by the company), if any are declared, in the form of dividends.

Non-Redeemable Shares

These are permanent savings in the SACCO required by the Reserve Bank law and cannot be redeemed when a member withdraws membership, but can be sold to another member. They make a member own Kuwala SACCO and have rights as one of the share holders.

Redeemable Shares

These are ordinary member shares that can be redeemed when a member decides to withdraw from the SACCO. One month’s notice is supposed to be given when withdrawing membership. Every member is required to contribute monthly a minimum of K5,000.00 as shares.
